A Lenten Season

Time for Spring Cleaning

Yard Workday and Picnic – Saturday, March 18

In the season of Lent which comes 40 days before Easter, as we make Lenten resolutions in our faith communities, we at Reentry House have made a resolution to prepare for spring with a house and yard cleanup, as we look forward to new life and new opportunities in our spring and summer season. Come join with the Board, residents and staff as we work together sprucing up the house and making “New Beginnings.” We will have a mid-day cookout with hamburgers and hot dogs. Please bring a side dish if you can.

Cynthia Wheaton from our Board writes:

“Do you enjoy occasional yardwork and the camaraderie of working as a team? Perhaps you no longer have a yard of your own but like to get your hands in the dirt and leaves. You can help the RHP team on Saturday, March 18, any time from 10 am until afternoon. Whether you would like to do yard work, bring tools, or bring food, you can get to know the RHP team and Board members. Bring any gloves or yard gear you may have. Come when you can and stay as long as you can: 1315 Carolina Loop, Hillsboro, NC. Hope to see you there.”

Can you help with accounting?

After finishing our donor records, Form 990 and Solicitor’s Annual Report,Paul Triulzi is looking for accounting help

Do you know of someone who can help?

We have lost our paid accountant, and need to find a replacement familiar with QuickBooks. In the past, RHP accounting has required 5 to 7 hours of help a month, and we have budgeted a fair amount for payment. Another option would be to have an experienced volunteer, making our resources go further. If you know of someone, or would like to pursue this opportunity yourself, please contact Paul Triulzi at questrandd@yahoo.com.

Prayer Requests

Having seen God work in amazing ways, we appreciate your prayers concerning our program, both specific and general. Please consider adding these issues to your prayer list:

  • Reliable and affordable accounting assistance.
  • Participation on Yard Work Day and Picnic – March 18, 10 am – 3 pm, with picnic lunch (Bring a side and we will provide hamburgers and hotdogs and buns.
  • Keep our residents – Andy, Michael, Heyworth, and Randy – in your prayers;  and those who will be coming in the future.  Remember Tommy, Will and the staff in your prayers.

We are grateful for your support!

Our deep thanks go out to everyone who has supported us so far this year. Every dollar makes a difference. Every meal delivered to the house is savored and appreciated. Every prayer joins with many others. Every person you educate about our post-incarceration assistance is one more person who knows. All of your support results in an outpouring of God’s grace for the efforts of Reentry House Plus., and prison ministry in general.  We appreciate you!

Administrative support

Doug Peterson and Cynthia Wheaton are meeting twice monthly with Tommy and Will to shape and review the work of the house. Chris Ringwalt and David Stanford are putting together all the minutes and historical documents in one place as a permanent record of RHP (as is also required for the Secretary of State as a public non-profit corporation record of our actions).
